Our Team

Ben and Melanie Douglas have gained a reputation for over a decade in providing wonderful experiences for children throughout the early years, and creating homely environments for the children in their care. With expertise, dedication and care the team strive to give every child the best start in their early years.

Everyone we employ at Highfield House is passionate about the development of children. They deliver an extremely high standard of early years education.

We seek individuals to join our team who have an empathetic approach and understand the importance of following each child’s own needs. We provide each member of staff with support and training through individual training courses and regular appraisals.

Each child is assigned a Key Worker who establishes a special relationship with the child.  The Key Worker keeps a developmental record, to which parents will have access all times.

We welcome parents as an essential part of the nursery ethos and learning experience. Our family atmosphere allows the children to share experiences with both parents and teachers.  We maintain an open door policy as we believe that the key to success is communication and sharing.

We encourage our staff to take holiday throughout the year so on occasions, you will see a different face in a different room. This means that staff may work in a room other than their home rooms during these times, to ensure a smooth transition for both children and parents. This allows both children and staff to get to know each other better.
